Following a substantial Value Engineering exercise and Non Material Amendment Submission to seek a second approval from the Local Planners, The Paddock project at Swansea, involved extending the existing house, utilising the floor slab of the conservatory annexe.
The extension is two storey and is constructed in Timber Frame, so as to keep the construction as lightweight as possible, given the floor slab and existing foundations are not deep.
The existing house has also been remodelled to incorporate a new staircase to an existing converted loft, formerly accessed by a loft ladder.
The garage is also partially conevrted to a utility room, for laundry purposes.
The exterior of the building has been transformed by covering the external walls with Stained Thermowood vertical T&G cladding. The Roof tiles have been replaced with Charcoal Black Concrete Roof Tiles and the windows have been replaced with Anthracite uPvc.
Overall the transformation from these changes has been extremely dramatic with the new Restrained Black Scandinavian materiality giving a 'Nordic Cool' style to the remodelled House.
