Dennis Hellyar brings over 20 years of post qualification architectural experience to this new dynamic, young and innovative Architecture Office.
Formerly holding Director positions in leading Architecture offices in South Wales, Dennis was responsible for Public Sector projects, including Education, Residential and Commercial projects.
Dennis has experience of a broad sector base, which means he is able to cross pollinate ideas and concepts between sectors. His approach to Architectural projects is collaborative. In the initial
stages of projects, he listens and immediately begins a process of gathering information. This is essential to be able to consult with the client and relevant stakeholders. The design process begins,
leading to the cataloguing of the key themes and issues, and then leading to initial concepts to address these. dhA services the South Wales region.
dhA has no house style. Each new project is unique. Each has its own set of problems leading to its own unique conclusion. Nothing is forced and a natural solution is teased from the
brief and the site, in collaboration with the client and the team.
dhA is flexible and adaptable and has the skills, tools, knowledge and experience to deliver projects in the Domestic, Residential, Commercial and Education sectors.
dhA has specialist knowledge in Affordable housing, Schools, Sustainability and 'Social' architecture - health and community focused projects.
With the unique selling point of the principal, Dennis Hellyar, working close to all projects in the office, given his broad experience from larger leading National practices, dhA
has the knowledge, skills, tools, energy and enthusiasm to provide a lean and efficient alternative for clients, seeking high calibre Architecture and Design.
dhA specialises in Sustainability. Dennis has award winning experience in BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes. Dennis qualified as a BREEAM Accredited Professional in July 2011. He
also designed the first BREEAM Excellent Further Education facility in the UK, and the first BREEAM Excellent Healthcare Centre in South Wales, winning Welsh Breeam awards for both
projects.
Please take some time to look at the past Architectural projects Dennis has worked on in Wales. If they are of interest, we welcome the opportunity to meet people to discuss their aspirations, so please feel free to give us a call.
